At Consob's request, Mediobanca wishes to make clear that the rumours in today's press regarding a possible merger between Mediobanca and Assicurazioni Generali are entirely unfounded. Mediobanca also wishes it to be known that no meetings of the Bank's governing bodies have been scheduled to discuss decisions to be taken in respect of the renewal of appointments to the Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali at its imminent annual general meeting.
